PHILADELPHIA - The New York Post says reality mom Kate Gosselin broke down during a TV taping for a new talk show.

Gosselin was in New York on Sunday trying out for a new show hosted by chef Paula Deen.

The Post said Gosselin, 34, began crying during the “Mom Logic” taping when she talked about being away from her children.

A source on set told the Post’s Page Six, "Producers flashed a picture of Kate's children on a screen and she burst into tears. She said she hates being away from her children, but now that she's to be divorced, she has to work to support them.”

People at the taping had mixed reviews of Gosselin’s performance.

It is known that Deen will star in the show, if it finds a home, and Gosselin would be a supporting figure, if she is offered a job.

Gosselin, comedian Julie Gold and former CBS talent Rene Syler tried out as contributors to the show.

Gosselin, 34, is still under contract to TLC.

The show will be produced by the same company that does “TMZ,” “Ellen” and “Extra.”

The Gosselins make between $50,000 and $70,000 per episode for “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

But the show’s ratings have plummeted after Jon and Kate Gosselin announced their divorce amongst a swarm of bad publicity.

The couple allegedly bought a $1.3 million estate in Wernersville, Pa., last year.

The couple is reportedly under contract to TLC for this season, and possibly one more season.

The fighting reality TV parents separated in June and will be divorced by the end of October.
