Sketch Released In Girl's Sex Assault

Good Samaritan Stopped Attack

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police have released a composite sketch of man they say sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

The attack happened September 27 around 8:30 p.m. in East Nottingham Township, Chester County.

The girl told police she was walking near her home in the area of Little Elk Creek Road and Old Creek Road when she saw a man ahead of her with a shepherd mix dog.

The 14-year-old said she stopped at a bridge when the suspect turned around and began to walk back towards her.

The victim started to head towards home when the man grabbed her from behind and took her to a grass area just off the roadway where he sexually assaulted her.

A male passerby on a bicycle heard the girl yelling and confronted the suspect who fled the scene. The girl did not see her attacker.

The passerby, Jon Sullivant, helped police come up with a composite sketch.

“I heard a girl yelling on the side of the road," recounts Sullivant. "She 'needed help' and 'dont hurt me and stuff' and I walked closer 'cause it was real dark and I seen this guy having her by the neck and she broke free from him and ran over to me. I hate people like that, really. I hope they get him cause I never expected anything like that to happen out here really. He just came out of nowhere."

The suspect is described as a white male, 50-60 years of age, approximately 170 pounds, with light-colored (possibly grey) hair and full light-colored beard.

Anyone who may recognize the sketch or has information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Avondale at 610-268-2022.
