Teacher Busted On Coke-Dealing Charges

A Wilmington elementary school teacher is facing several drug charges.

Police say they arrested 33-year-old Wayne Richard in a grocery store parking lot after they received a tip he'd be there making a delivery of cocaine.

A search of Richard's home uncovered 5 additional grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a .380 cobra handgun, say police.

Richard has been charged with trafficking cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for keeping a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for keeping a controlled substance, two counts of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Richard is a teacher at Harlan Elementary School.

He has been arraigned and released after posting $19,500 secured bail.
