Van Driver Hits, Kills Woman In Montco

ELKINS PARK, Pa. - A hit-and-run driver killed an elderly woman crossing the street Monday afternoon in Montgomery County.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. in Elkins Park, Cheltenham Township.

Police said a light-gray work van hit the woman as she crossed Old York Road at East Church Road.

The driver got out and looked around before taking off in the van, which was last seen traveling down Church Road, police said.

An ambulance transported the injured pedestrian to a local hospital in serious condition, but she was later pronounced dead.
