Delaware State Police said a trooper shot a man in the hand over the weekend after he refused to drop his gun.
Police said they were called for a domestic disturbance involving 38-year-old Chad Fulginiti, of Millsboro, who allegedly damaged a car belonging to a man he thought was romantically involved with his wife.
Fulginiti was treated at the hospital and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, drunk driving, and disregarding a police officer's signal.
The state trooper has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a standard investigation after the discharge of a trooper's weapon.
