Delaware State Police have arrested a 54 year-old man in Hospice care after he brutally attacked his girlfriend.
Troopers were called to the Cedar Village Mobile Home Park
Friday in Lincoln, Delaware. Police say a hospice nurse
walked in to the home of 54-year old Bruce Donophan. The
nurse heard screaming when entering the home and observed
Donophan assaulting his 51 year-old girlfriend. The nurse called
police and managed to pull Donophan off of the victim.
The girlfriend was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital,
But her injuries were so severe that she was flown to Christiana
Hospital. She is listed in critical condition with internal
bleeding of the brain, fractured orbital socket and injuries to her
eyes. State police are unsure what started the assault or if any
weapon was used.
Donophan has been charged with assault.
The Hospice nurse was at the home to care for Donophan.
