DRPA Spends Last Economic Development Money
Objection Raised To Spending Plan Before Approval

CAMDEN, N.J. - The Delaware River Port Authority has allocated $20 million to projects including a cancer institute at Cooper University Hospital, a food bank and a rowing course.
The port authority says it is the last spending it will do on economic development unrelated to transportation.
Citizens have frequently criticized the bridge and rail agency for its economic development role over the past 19 years.
It has helped fund new stadiums in Philadelphia and Chester and an aquarium in Camden, among other projects.
Pennsylvania Auditor General Jack Wagner spoke out at Wednesday's board meeting against the latest projects to receive money from the DRPA.
