PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a prisoner is missing from the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, and they're trying to determine if he escaped.
Kevin Turner, 22, was admitted to the Philadelphia Prison System on March 17 when he was charged with firearms cases and one burglary case.
Turner – a photo of whom was released to Fox 29 News – was assigned as a kitchen worker on a 1 p.m.-to-9 p.m. shift inside the facility, which is located on State Road in Northeast Philadelphia.
Staff knew someone was unaccounted for by 8:30 a.m., and by 11 a.m. they had determined who the missing inmate was.
Philadelphia police have been notified, but county jail officials have not ruled out that Turner may be hiding inside the facility, which happened several years ago, a spokesman said.
Turner had his bail reduced during a court appearance less than a week ago, court records show. He has given false names to police in the past, including use of the aliases "Marvine Alsbrooks" and "Terrell James."
