Obama To Stump For Specter In Philly

PHILADELPHIA - President Barack Obama is visiting Philadelphia this afternoon to help Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter raise money for his Senate campaign.

The President will mingle with guests at a pricey reception at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Prices begin at $1,000 for the cocktail reception. There is a VIP reception and dinner for people who raised between $10 and $50,000. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Gov. Ed Rendell are expected to attend as well.

Specter left the Republican party and joined the Democrats last April. He is running against Congressman Joe Sestak in the primary.

Specter will fly in with the President from Pittsburgh. The fundraiser begins at 4 p.m.
