PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police have released surveillance camera images of a man who they say is a suspect in the theft of $875,000 worth of jewelry from a Rittenhouse Square apartment building on Jan. 18.
It was 11:40 a.m. on that date when police say the man allegedly entered the victim's apartment on the 200 block of Rittenhouse Square and took various pieces of jewelry. He then fled by taking an elevator and exiting the rear of the building onto Locust Street.
Police said Wednesday that, after an exhaustive investigation, they have found surveillance images of the man exiting a nearby building. He's described as a black male, around 30-years-old and at least 6 feet tall, who is bald with a large build. In the images he's seen wearing a green or blue jacket, a dark knit hat and dark-colored jeans.
If you see the man, call 9-1-1 immediately and do not approach him, police said. To submit a tip, call the department's Central Detective Division at 215-686-TIPS (8477). You can also use an electronic form to submit a tip anonymously.
