SJTA Seeks Sick-Time Policy Changes

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Think getting paid for two weeks of unused sick time sounds like a good holiday bonus?

It's happening now at the Delaware River Port Authority, and it's costing toll payers millions.

Management there says they won't stop it.

But the man who runs the South Jersey Transportation Authority is looking to end a similar policy.

"I’m actually putting a policy together that I want to advance to the boss, ask him to support it and ask him to eliminate that for all management this year,’ Bart R. Mueller SJTA Executive Director said. ’And hopefully, as we go towards next year’s contract, we’ll be able to duplicate that. We have to do it first."

The SJTA runs the Atlantic City Expressway, the Atlantic City airport and some parking lots and garages.
