There's no longer such a thing as a free ride. One of the last "Free" bridges between Pennsylvania and New Jersey could start charging tolls.
The Scudder Falls Bridge is currently free. Howeever Governor Rendell is urging the DRPA to set a meeting to discuss plans for tolls on the bridge.
Governor Ed Rendell says a 1 or 2 dollar toll is needed to raise money to rebuild the bridge. He would like to see it widened to cut down on traffic.
As you can imagine drivers are not crazy about the idea. They say the state is once again passing the buck onto the tax payer.
