Two schools in the western part of Chester County were closed on Tuesday after a bomb threat.
Octorara Middle School and Octorara High School in Atglen, Pa., qwew evacuated after the threat was made around 9:45 a.m.
Students were then sent home around lunch time.
The Octorara Area School District posted the following message on its Web sites to update students and teachers:

“This message is to inform you that at approximately 9:45 a.m. there was a bomb threat reported at the high school. All buildings are currently on lock down and high school and middle school students have been evacuated to the elementary buildings while state police assess the situation. We will notify you via phone system as the situation develops. At this time you can be most helpful by not coming on campus.”
YMCA after school program students will be transported to the Cochranville YMCA and parents will be contacted regarding pick-up, the school said.
