WINSLOW TWP. NJ - The jobs of 160 teachers and staff are on the chopping block in Winslow Township, New Jersey.
The school board Thursday night to cut the jobs because of budget problems. Fox-29's Steve Keeley reported, many parents are outraged. One administrator told Fox-29 the decision is very short-sighted calling it a "loose, loose, proposition." 55 of the jobs to be cut are teachers.
The teachers union is vowing to fight the cuts.
Last month, voters in Winslow Township voted down increasing the school budget in hopes of keeping property taxes from going up.
