PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police have the boyfriend of a murdered pregnant woman in custody on Thursday.
Tiffany Gillespie, 24, was killed by a gunshot wound.
Aaron Fitzpatrick, 19, of Tree St., is in custody and speaking with police.
Sources tell Fox 29 that Fitzpatrick has given police a full statement.
The discovery was made early Thursday morning on the 2300 block of South Mildred Street.
Neighbors said Gillespiewas expecting twins.
"There's no sign of forced entry," police Chief Inspector Scott Small said at the scene.
"All we know is that shortly before 2:30 a.m. there was a 9-1-1 call received by 3rd District Police that there was a woman screaming, bleeding from the head in the basement of a home on the 2300 block of South Mildred Street," Small said. "Upon police arrival, fire department, paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:37 a.m."
Small said she was suffering from "severe head trauma."
