Armored Car Robbed In Jenkintown

JENKINTOWN, Pa. - Police are on a manhunt for three men in hoods who just robbed an armored car outside a TD Bank branch in Jenkintown.

The robbery happened at 710 Old York Road at 9:40 a.m.

The courier was removing the delivery from the vehicle when a light blue or silver minivan pulled up to the armored car and the rear passenger-side door opened, revealing two unidentified subjects wearing masks. One was armed with a shotgun, and the other had a handgun.

The subjects pointed their weapons at the courier and demanded the delivery. After providing the bag to the subjects in the van, which had no back seat, the vehicle sped off headed southbound on Old York Road towards Easton Road and Highland Avenue.

Authorities have released two surveillance images showing the minivan, with its door open, just behind the armored car. (Click the images tab on the left to see them).

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Abington Township Police Department at 267-536-1100. There may be a reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of these subjects, and tipsters may remain anonymous.
