Holy Trinity Catholic elementary school in Morrisville, Pa., posted a breaking news notice on its Website, saying it will stay open.
Holy Trinity was set to merge with St. John the Evangelist, Lower Makefield, at the Lower Makefield site.
St. Ephrem's in Bensalem also said on its Facebook page that it won its appeal and won't merge with St. Mark's.
Fox 29 then confirmed late on Thursday afternoon that St. Laurentius in Fishtown and St. Francis in Aston, Pa., will stay open.
On Friday, the Archdiocese will officially announce if any of the schools that appealed their closings won their case.
At least 16 schools of the 49 schools on the closing list have appealed their case to a Blue Ribbon Commission and the Archdiocese.
In January, the Archdiocese said it would have a final decision by February 15th on the schools that appealed, but that decision was delayed.
The Archdiocese invited any school to file an appeal to discuss the economics behind the decision to consolidate schools.
It said all factors would be considered during the appeals process.
The Archdioceses set up two Review Committees-one for parish elementary schools and one for high schools-to facilitate requests.
