Now comes along a new product to go with your pre-nup: divorce insurance.

Fox 29 consumer reporter Michelle Buckman talked to the divorcee behind the idea, John Logan.

His start-up insurance company out of North Carolina is hoping growing divorce rates will translate to dollar signs.

Logan's product is called Wed Lock divorce insurance .

Pay as little as $15.99 a month for a policy that will mature over time, and if you need it, the money will help cover your legal fees, the cost of moving out on your own or whatever you need.

"As much as we want our marriages to succeed, down the road things change so we want to make sure we protect ourselves," Logan says. "It is not a romantic idea but it's a realistic idea."

"The reality is that when you divorce your spouse gets half is not really true. The average loss of net worth is 77%. That's a lot higher than 50%."

And the burden is harder on women.

"When you look at the reality of the situation, 44% of women go below the poverty line and never recover," Logan said.

His Web site has a divorce probability calculator . You plug in some factors and the calculator spits out your likelihood of divorce.

Logan says his product is practical, but we talked to a local wedding planner who had one word to describe it" creepy!
