A father in New Jersey says teens who might have been high on a legal drug destroyed two cars that were Christmas presents for his two daughters.
The cars were parked in front of their home, when he claims that teenagers, who were driving high, slammed into the cars.
It happened last Friday Night in Marlton, N.J.
Jim Barcliff says the teens admitted they were high on a legal drug known as "Sonic Boom".
Brittany and Amber Barcliff haven't had much to be happy about heading into the new year.
On Monday, they are standing over the messed up lawn where their new cars were smashed into twisted metal Friday night.
"I feel extremely bad for my dad. He works so hard to give our family what he does and everything was on track. We got these beautiful new gifts and for them to be taken from us because people are being irresponsible and reckless, there's nothing i can even say,” Brittany Barcliff said.
Three teenagers were in a car that smashed into their vehicles.
Neighbor Cathy Amico's car was also hit.
"We came to our car and saw that the whole side of the car is gone, just gone. It's like, oh my goodness,” Amico said.
One of the girls in the car allegedly told the Barcliff family that they had been on synthetic pot known as Sonic Weed when the crash happened.
It's also known as Sonic Boom, a kind of fake pot often marked as incense.
The crash pushed cars parked on the street all the way up to the house.
The girls are now trying to get around town on their own and have a message for those that did this.
"I hope that on some level they feel remorse for what they did and that it's going to be a wake-up call for them, because they have impacted our lives and their lives by doing this,” the girls said.
