Del. Teacher Charged With Sex Abuse

NEWARK, Del. - Delaware State Police have charged a high school teacher with sexually abusing a 17-year-old female student over several months.
Thirty-year-old Matthew Pleasanton of Middletown is a teacher at Glasgow High School in Newark.
He has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust and unlawful sexual contact with a person less than 18 years of age. He has been released on $112,500 secured bond.
School administrators contacted troopers last month. Authorities say the alleged abuse occurred between September and January.
