More information is coming out about the death of a 9-year-old Souderton girl. Her 283-pound neighbor has confessed to the killing and his fiancé may face charges in the case.

People in Souderton, Pa. were going through trying times after the murder of a little girl, with several prayer vigils set for the small town in Montgomery County.

The details of the crime are horrific and police say what started as a fun night for the 9 year old, ended with a deadly struggle with a 6 foot 2 inch, 283 pound killer.

Skylar Kauffman was last seen playing in front of her apartment complex early Monday evening.

Police got the call that Kauffman was missing and officers arrived on the scene four minutes later.

Soon after that an Amber Alert went out. Then, there was a series of unthinkable discoveries.

First, a pool of blood and what appeared to be a child's shoe on the ground in an apartment basement.

Then, officers spotted James Lee Troutman, 23, a neighbor, with what looked like blood on his shoes.

After that, police found blood-soaked clothes at his apartment, and then at 11:55 p.m., they found her body near a trash bin at the apartment complex.

Police say Troutman eventually admitted to choking Skylar Kauffman, hitting her head on the ground and dumping her body.

Troutman told police it was like a whiteout and that he just snapped.

Police say he also raped the little girl.

Now he faces a laundry list of charges including first and second degree murder.

Fox 29 has seen the affidavit in the case, and the seven-page document is difficult to read.

What's disturbing is Troutman's fiancé heard Kauffman scream and cry repeatedly for 4 minutes and she didn't do anything, according to police.

The fiancé may face changes in the case.
