Does Tv Feed Cosmetic Surgery Desires?

Plastic surgery is a hot TV topic. Millions tune in every week to watch ’makeover’ shows. They see new noses, breasts, stomachs, lifts and maybe a little lipo.

As it turns out, it may be more than entertainment for some people. A new study shows that it’s making people wants to get procedures done themselves.

Fox 29’s Kerri Lee Halkett interviewed Patrick Markey on the Fox 29 News at 5.

Markey is a psychologist at Villanova University. Markey and his wife conducted the study along with a group of researchers out of Rutgers University. It examines whether or not people exposed to reality TV shows centering around cosmetic surgery wanted to get surgery on themselves.
