The board of the Delaware River Port Authority has rejected a reform called for by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
The board voted against a ban on doing business with contractors for two years after they hire workers who leave the agency. Four of the board's Pennsylvania commissioners voted against the measure. To pass, a DRPA resolution must have the support of the majority of the eight-member delegations from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Christie vetoed the DRPA's previous post-employment restrictions, saying they weren't tough enough.
Also Wednesday, the board approved a ban on on-duty political activity by commissioners and employees. But it delayed a decision to stop doing business with firms that make political donations.
