FOLCROFT, Pa. - New details tonight on the man charged in a hit and run in Delaware county. Police say Matthew Cooper, the man they say was behind the wheel of the car that struck a father of two on new year's day, works as an EMT.
The victim, 33 year-old John Mcmanus was struck just a couple hours into the new year on the seven hundred block of Taylor avenue in Folcroft.
Folcroft police say 24-year old Matthew Cooper worked for friendship ambulance service transport in Boothwyn, as an EMT, helping people in emergency situations. Yet tonight he's charged with hitting a man and leaving the scene. But this is where police say Matthew Cooper works as an EMT.
A man who answered the door marked signature medical around closing time though wouldn't give us a definitive answer.

Both were coming from New Year's celebrations.
Mcmanus though was the designated driver for a group of friends and was dropping them off at a house on Taylor avenue in Folcroft when he was hit.
Monday police arrested cooper, they say he admitted hitting something and not stopping.
Cooper posted bail Tuesday. In the meantime, no word if Cooper will be headed back to work as an EMT. The victim is still in the hospital and his wife glad the person accused of hitting him, is charged.
Police got a search warrant for Cooper’s car today. They're waiting on forensics results.
They say cooper does not have a prior criminal record.
