O’Connell and Edwards were doing a live report at 10 p.m. about the case, where a police raid was triggered by the naked man outside a house at 9th and Shunk Street on Tuesday night.
The man, who O’Connell later said was the suspect’s son, appeared during the live segment and lunged at O’Connell as Edwards tried to restrain him.
SPCA officers subdued the man. Then, police arrived and arrested the man and he was just off camera and in custody when O’Connell came back on TV about 15 minutes later.
He's in police custody, pending charges for assault as well as resisting arrest.
O'Connell will be joining "Good Day" live to talk all about the experience during the 7 o'clock hour.

Investigators said it was one of the most bizarre animal cruelty cases they had ever seen, even before the televised incident.
Among the half dozen dead dogs inside the home were roosters, dead turtles and iguanas and a 4-foot-long live alligator.
They were all carried out after the raid by animal welfare investigators.
Police say they've been to this property over the years after complaints from residents but were never able to get a search warrant for the home.
That all changed on Tuesday, when the owner was found sitting naked outside his home. Officers also spotted a dead iguana giving them probable cause to go inside.
