SOUDERTON, Pa. - The prom is one of the most memorable nights in a teenager's life but in this tough economy not everyone can afford to wear their dream outfit. That's where a special group of students comes in.
Souderton high school students want to make sure this year’s prom is a magical one. So they've organized a dress drive so that every girl gets her Cinderella Story. The prom dresses are pouring in at Souderton High.
They are collecting donated formal wear as part of their Future Business Leaders of America class project so that every girl in school can go to prom. It's also a lot of pressure especially for those who can't afford their dream dress.
They have plenty to choose from. The girls showed me some of their top picks.
The dresses come in all sizes, colors, and styles.
Once the girls are all outfitted, the students will hold a dress sale where all the remaining gowns will be sold for less than 50 dollars and the proceeds go to laurel house for battered women.
Then if any gowns and shot shoes/bags on table accessories are left over they will be sent to the Cinderella Project, a national charity that helps outfit girls for proms everywhere.
All donations must be in by March 2nd. To find out how you can donate, just go to our website and click the Seen On TV tab.
