Reporter Bruce Gordon’s face said it all as lightning struck behind N.J. Senate President Stephen Sweeney during a live interview Thursday.
Sweeney was talking to Bruce from the field in West Deptford, N.Jj. while storms moved through the area. The flash and immediate crack of the lightning caused Sweeney to jump.
Sweeney will attempt to override some of Gov. Chris Christie's budget cuts beginning Monday, unless he thinks twice about it.
Sweeney said Thursday that Democrats hope to override the Republican governor's vetoes of funding for programs for the blind, AIDS patients, cities, child sex victims and more.
Christie shaved $1.3 billion in spending from the budget passed by the Democratic-controlled Legislature before signing the document into law last week.
