List Of Current Snow Emergencies

Many towns and areas in the Philadelphia area, New Jersey and Delaware have declared snow emergencies because of the storm.

Here is the current list:

Atlantic County:

Egg Harbor Township. Police Department is requesting, due to the impending snow storm, that its residents remove their vehicles from the roadways. Park the vehicles in driveways and off the roadway to allow our emergency vehicles to easily negotiate their response to emergency calls.

Bucks County:

Hilltown Township, Bucks County and Silverdale Borough, Bucks County has declared a snow emergency as of 6pm on Friday, February 5th. It will be in effect through 12pm on Sunday February 7.


Warminster Township has declared a snow emergency beginning this evening (2/5/2010). We are advising residents to remain at home and move their vehicles from the streets to facilitate plowing.

Richland Township, Bucks County PA has declared a snow emergency. It will begin at 5pm on Friday, February 5, 2010 and will remain in effect until all snow removal operations are completed. Vehicle owners are encouraged to remove vehicles that are parked on snow emergency routes asap.

Montgomery County:

Upper Merion Twp has declared a snow emergency that will start on Feb 5th at 6pm.

East Norriton Township, PA has declared a snow emergency that will start on February 5, 2010 at 12pm. Off- street parking is required on all township roads until declaration is lifted.

Abington Township, PA has declared a snow emergency. It will start on February 5, 2010 at 7pm until tomorrow night at 7pm. Vehicles need to keep off the roads during this time.

Cheltenham Township has declared a Snow Emergency in the township beginning at 9PM on Friday, February 5 and continuing until the storm ends and roadways are clear. All parked vehicles must be removed from Snow Emergency routes, and only vehicles with chains or snow tires may travel on those routes during the emergency.

Towamencin Township has announced that a "Snow Emergency" has been declared starting at 6:00 pm this evening. When a "Snow Emergency" is declared by the Township all cars must be removed from roadways/streets designated as "Snow Emergency Route". Vehicles not removed are subject to citation.

Lancaster County

A snow emergency will take effect in the City of Lancaster at 9 PM, Friday evening. Vehicles parked on snow emergency routes will be towed beginning at 8 AM Saturday morning. Snow emergency routes must remain open and towing will continue until the snow emergency is lifted. Free parking will be available in all Parking Authority garages, with the exception of the Penn Square garage


Chester County:

Parkesburg Borough, 3PM today until the conclusion of the storm;

Spring City Borough, 9PM tonight until 7AM Sunday;

Malvern, PA has declared a snow emergency which will be in effect from 4pm on Friday, February 5 until 4pm on Saturday, February 6.

North Coventry Township currently through 8pm Sunday;

West Chester Borough, 2am Saturday through 12pm Sunday.

Borough of Downingtown has declared a Snow Energency effective at 6:00pm on Friday, February 5, 2010. It was declared by Mayor Josh Maxwell. It will remain in effect until lifted. All vehicles must be removed from designated snow emergency routes or be ticketed and towed.

Philadelphia County

Managing Director to Declare Snow Emergency 8 P.M. Friday, February 5, 2010

On Friday, February 5, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Managing Director Camille C. Barnett will declare a snow emergency. All vehicles parked on Snow Emergency Routes must be moved to an alternate parking location by 8:00 p.m. Any vehicle remaining on a Snow Emergency Route during the declared Snow Emergency will be ticketed and towed. If your car is towed, call 215-686-SNOW for its location. Do NOT call 911. A list of snow emergency routes can be found at www.phila.gov/streets CLEAN AND SAFE STREETS


STATE OF DELAWARE

Declares Statewide State of Emergency Effective at 8:00 PM

Governor Jack Markell declared a State of Emergency covering the entire state of Delaware effective at 8:00 pm today, with vehicles ordered off the roads as of 10 p.m.

As of 10 p.m. tonight and until further notice, the emergency declaration allows only emergency vehicles and essential personnel on the roads until further notice.
