HADDONFIELD, N.J. - Colin Hough is only 14 years old and is in the middle of a battle no teenager should have to go through. While most kids were getting ready for Christmas last year, Colin was finding out he has a rare form of cancer that attacks his soft tissue.
Colin isn't fighting It alone. Despite only moving to Haddonfield six months ago, he's got the entire town right there beside him.
At Colin’s high school, Haddonfield Memorial, the “go4thegoal” organization is holding fundraisers, selling neon yellow shoelaces in Colin’s name and also for middleschooler Jason Garstkiewicz, who has bone cancer. The students here and all over town are wearing them.
They're only kids, but they're selflessly giving to help Colin and Jason beat cancer. Families are spending time and money to deliver food to a cooler outside Colin’s door, and a fund is set up at Ludovicos Deli so the family can order anytime and not pay a cent.
It's an entire community going out of its way and helping prop up a family that many of them have never even met.
