Local Town Faces Firefighter Layoffs

A South Jersey town deals with a vote to layoff 13 local firefighters.

Fox 29’s Steve Keeley was in Mount Laurel on Thursday, where as many as 13 firefighters could lose their jobs after a Feb. 20 referendum.

The town currently has 100 firefighters but faces severe budget problems.

About 50 of those people are full-time employees.
