Only on Fox 29, a desperate plea from a mother who lost her son to gun violence on the streets of Philadelphia.
Now, she is putting up her own money as a reward to catch his killer.
Shantashi cooper's emotions were overflowing when she spoke with us.
She wiped away tears, wishing she could wipe away the pain of losing her son, Rashi Anderson, three weeks before his 18th birthday.
“I'm not angry anymore. I just want to close my eyes and wake up and not feel bad anymore,” she said.
The 17-year-old was gunned down after work. He was on the sidewalk in the 6300 block of North 21st street.
The shooting happened just a block away from his West Oak Lane home.
Nearly two weeks after Rashi's murder, no arrests have been made.
His mother now putting up her own money, a $1,000 reward, hoping to catch the killer and bring closure.
Mayor Michael Nutter recently announced he's putting up to a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction of any of the homicide's in the city.
