A catering hall out of business and a blushing bride out of luck. It's a bride to be's worst nightmare her picture perfect wedding falling apart. But she's not the only one scrambling for another venue after Renaissance Catering in Turnersville shut down with no notice.
Tammye Hahn is devastated. She found out a few days ago the hall where she booked her upcoming October wedding reception is closed for good. Hahn is out her $1100 deposit and no one from Renaissance Catering in Turnersville ever contacted her. She had to read it on the orange signs posted on the halls door “Notice of seizure NJ Division of Taxation.”
Cassandra Farmer and her daughter Briana reduced to tears after they learned last Thursday 48 hours before Brianas sweet 16th birthday, Renaissance Catering shut down. They were out $2500. Party planner Regina Grace found a new party site and got renaissance catering to pay $2100 but it was too late to alert all the guests and many didn't make it.
Tonight attorney Dan Hutchison who represents the owners of renaissance catering says quote " The business will not reopen. But I'm confident the owners are committed to paying people back their deposits prior to their event dates. They will be contacted in the next 24 hrs.” That's little comfort to Tammye Hahn who needs her money now to pay for her new venue.
