No Word On Missing Students In Haiti

Florida School's Staff, Others Searching In Haiti

Officials at Lynn University in Boca Raton say four students, including a New Jersey woman, remain missing in the rubble of a luxury hotel in Haiti.

Rescue teams are still digging at the Hotel Montana in Port-Au-Prince.

Christine Gianacaci of Hopewell, N.J., is one of four students believed to be trapped in the rubble since last week. Two faculty members are also missing.

Gianacaci is part of the school's "Journey for Hope" group, which included 12 students and two advisors who were staying at the Hotel Montana in Port-Au-Prince.

“Reports from the ground suggest that search and rescue efforts continue at the Hotel Montana site, and that a team from Miami-Dade arrived on the scene today to support the effort,” the school said Monday night.

The college also plans to make an announcement Tuesday behind closed doors to students, the school said in a statement.

“On Tuesday, Jan. 19, classes at Lynn will be suspended between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., President Kevin Ross will address the entire campus community in the Lynn student center cafeteria. (This is a private meeting and will not be open to the general public.)
