Two Center City streets have bicycle-only lanes. They have been deemed a success – The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia says that bike ridership numbers are up dramatically on Spruce and Pine Streets since those lanes were created last September.
Now, there is talk of expanding the full bike lane premise to Market and J.F.K –west of City Hall. Supporters eventually want to see full lanes stretch river to river.
Are motorists being squeezed out to help what is really a handful of bicyclists?
