Purse Thieves Spotted On Surveillance Video

Restaurant and bar owner Bob Bitros says three women seen on a surveillance video at Interstate Draft House in Fishtown were involved in stealing a customer’s wallet out of her handbag.

Bob says the two suspects were sitting at this table, the 62 year old female customer here behind them her purse like this one on the back of the chair. Bob says one of the suspects reached in and took the wallet.

Police say the suspects stole $265 in cash and credit cards. To help protect customers Bob put these hooks by the bar stools but he advises women to keep their purses in sight when at a table because you can never be too careful.

Police say these types of crimes often go unreported and Bob whose been in the restaurant business a long time says its happened before at other establishments because its easy target.
