Some iPhone Owners Get Money From Apple

Apple will be paying cash to some iPhone owners after reportedly settling a class-action lawsuit about phone reception issues.
Anyone who bought an original iPhone 4 will get $15 from Apple, or a free phone case.
The phones have been on the market since 2010 and there may be more than 20 million phones in the hands of consumers.
The latest model, the iPhone 4S, doesn't have the same phone reception issues.
The controversy over the phone reception flaw led the late Apple founder Steve Jobs to apologize and offer free phone cases as a way to prevent reception issues.
Ira Rothken, a lead attorney in the case, told CNN that more than 21 million iPhone 4 owners were eligible for the payout.
Apple hasn't commented on the settlement yet.
Rothken filed the original class action lawsuit in July 2010.
In a press release at the time, he claimed "the alleged design defects include the antenna embedded in the case, when used and handled in the normal and ordinary course, caused a degraded signal and dropped calls."
CNN says a Web site will be set up at iPhone4Settlement.com for people to claim their settlement.
That URL isn't active yet, but it is registered to Kurtzman Carson Consultants in California.
