Stolen Goods Used To Support Hezbollah

2 Men Sentenced Today In Federal Court

Philadelphia-based Eastern District U.S. attorney’s office released sentencing information today on two men who were transporting stolen goods to support hizbollah.
Michael Katz, 58, if Plainsboro, NJ and Alaa Allia Ahmed Mohamed a/k/a “Allaa Ahmed Mohamed Abouelnagaa”, 44, of Brooklyn, NY were sentenced on Wednesday for conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods and trafficking in counterfeit goods.

The charges against Katz and Mohamed were filed in conjunction with a case against four people, including Hassan Hodroj and Dib Hani Harb. They were charged with attempting to provide material support to Hezbollah in the form of approximately 1,200 Colt M4 Carbine machine guns.

Katz and Mohammed, in late 2007, participated in the purchase and transportation of such stolen goods as cell phones, laptops and automobiles. The conspirators transported the goods to destinations outside PA, including destinations overseas.
Katz and Mohamed plead guilty in March and April of this year, respectively.
