Stopping For Pedestrians In Crosswalks

A Father's Crusade

Crossing the street can sometimes be extremely dangerous. A newly amended law in New Jersey will make it safer to cross the road.

Fox 29’s Claudia Gomez introduces up to a local father whose 21 year-old daughter, Casey, died while crossing the street last summer, in Ocean City. She was in the crosswalk and was hit by a distracted driver.

Joel Feldman has been pushing for the law to be amended in New Jersey. It took effect April 1st. It is now state law to STOP for pedestrians, as opposed to yield to pedestrians.

He told Claudia he would like to keep other families from going through a tragedy like this.
