Student Sells Pot Brownies At School

A student in Allentown, Pa., admits selling marijuana brownies at school, after two girls get sick from the drug-laced desserts.

The 17-year-old boy was dealing the brownies at Parkland High School and charging between $5 and $15 per brownie.

He admitted to marijuana possession at a hearing and will serve eight weekends at a youth services camp, to do 75 hours of community service, to undergo random urine testing and to continue drug and alcohol counseling. The juvenile also will lose his driver's license for six months.

The two girls who ate the brownies were taken to a hospital and were later released, according to said Assistant District Attorney Gregory Englert.

None of the other students who ate the brownies had gotten sick, and authorities don't know if something else contributed to the girls' illness.

After the juvenile was charged, he was taken to the Lehigh County Detention Center.

After a detention hearing, he was released to the custody of his parents and was placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
