Teen "Sexting" & Harsh Consequences

Some Pennsylvania lawmakers want to outlaw teenage "sexting."

"Sexting" is when nude and explicit photos are sent though text messages. The current statute requires teens who "sext" to be charged with child pornography.  The legislation being considered would prohibit minors from "sexting."  It would impose penalties - including summary offenses, all the way up to felony charges.

While some say the law is designed to protect children, other say it's infringing upon their right to free speech.

We invited Dr. Argie Allen, director of Clinical Training in Couple & Family Therapy Program at Drexel University and attorney Amy Feldman to sound off.

Do we really need this legislation?

Are the penalties suggested for sexting too harsh?

What do you think?
