Punxsutawney, Pa. - Punxsutawney Phil has an “accident” on camera when his handlers remove him from his stump on Groundhog Day.
Luckily for his handlers, it wasn’t a “no. 1” accident, which happened several years ago to his top-hat-wearing handlers.
Instead, the surprised rodent can be seen with hay sticking to his posterior after his handlers hoisted Phil up in front of thousands of screaming people on Tuesday morning.
Just before that, some other matter can be seen falling from Phil as he struggled with handlers.
The town of Punxsutawney was packed with thousands of guests who saw Phil predict six more weeks of winter.
In case you missed it, here is the official proclamation:
Hear Ye Hear Ye Hear Ye
On Gobbler's Knob on this glorious Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2010, Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators awoke to the call of President Bill Deeley and greeted his handlers, John Griffiths and Ben Hughes.
After casting a joyful eye towards thousands of his faithful followers, Phil proclaimed, "If you want to know what's next, you must read my text. As the sky shines bright above me, my shadow I see beside me. So six more weeks of winter it will be."
