Man killed after walking into traffic wanted in California murder investigation

A California man who was killed after walking into oncoming traffic on Monday was wanted for murder.

The man, who has not been identified, was fatally struck at about 8 a.m. on I-5 near the March Lane exit in Stockton, Calif., Fox40.com reports.

Police in Santa Rosa had been monitoring the man in connection to a homicide investigation and contacted authorities in Stockton on Monday. He was later pulled over by Stockton police officers and began acting erratically. The man then began to yell and asked officers to shoot him, sources told Fox40.com.

After running toward the highway, the unidentified man was struck by a truck after several cars avoided hitting him. He later died at the scene.
