PHILADELPHIA - Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter held his first fund-raiser as a Democrat over the weekend.
During a news conference on Saturday, a former supporter shouted that he wanted his money back.
Specter said he is willing to give back campaign contributions to anyone who no longer wants to support him because of the switch.
Specter also made the rounds on the Sunday morning talk shows and weighed in on who he thinks President Barack Obama should choose to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter.
"I would hope that he would look beyond the circuit courts of appeals which now populate the Supreme Court and pick someone with a greater world experience and diversity," Specter said on NBC's "Meet The Press."
Specter is a member of the senate panel that will conduct hearings on Obama's Supreme Court nominee.
