Incumbent Leads In Early Poll Of Possible Race

Rasmussen Reports has some new numbers out, and the results may surprise you.

One question pertains to the upcoming race for the possible 2010 Pennsylvania Democratic primary battle for the U.S. Senate nomination. It asked if the race between Sen. Arlen Specter -- who switched parties earlier this year -- and Congressman Joe Sestak were held today, for whom would you vote?

About 51 percent of those polled said Specter, 32 percent said Sestak, 13 percent still are note sure. It also asked about favorable ratings for each candidate.

The poll also showed 35 percent view Specter favorably, 37 percent see him somewhat favorable and 16 percent see him somewhat unfavorable while 10 percent see him unfavorably.

With the same questions for Sestak, 18 percent see him very favorably, 39 percent somewhat favorable, 12 percent somewhat unfavorable and 9 percent very unfavorable.
