Bus Stop Buddy Running For Mayor?

Would Bus Stop Buddy leave Fox 29 for a run at the mayor's office? That is what some our Facebook friends are asking.

After the news broke that Alec Baldwin may run for mayor in New York, we asked people on Facebook which local celeb would be a good candidate in Philadelphia.

And Bus Stop Buddy got a surprising show of support in our electronic "straw poll" on Facebook, along with local favorites like Bill Cosby, Kevin Bacon and The Phillie Phanatic.

Fox 29 political reporter Bruce Gordon spoke about "BSB" and the other potential candidates on Thursday, and he said before you stop laughing, you should think about Jesse Ventura and Fred "Gopher" Grandy, who were sworn into office while people were chuckling.

We did attempt to reach Buddy for comment, but he was unavailable.
