Once-Powerful Pol Had Been Working As Orderly
PHILADELPHIA - Fox 29 got inside information Monday on former state Sen. Vince Fumo is serving time in federal prison for his corruption conviction.
Almost six months into his sentence, Fumo has apparently grown a beard and is teaching some sort of business class.
He started serving his sentence in Kentucky last summer.
"He is making the best of a difficult situation. He's doing a lot of reading. I'm told he's even doing some working out," said Ralph Cipriano, who's writing a Fumo book.
Recently the once-powerful South Philly Democrat had been working as a prison orderly in a job that paid $.12 an hour.
