Tea Party, GOP Get Nasty In Delaware

A nasty election in Delaware pits a GOP candidate against a Tea Party Express favorite, and the race is very ugly by any standards.

Long-time Republican Mike Castle is in a very bitter fight with Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell for the GOP nomination for a U.S. Senate race.

There have been allegations of financial wrongdoing and sexual shenanigans.

O'Donnell has had financial issues in the past, and Castle has made that a campaign issue.

This week, a conservative firm until recently employed by O'Donnell made an unsupported charge of a gay affair against Castle in a video posted to its website.

O'Donnell condemned that move and disavowed any association with the group.

But O'Donnell has claimed she is being followed by Castle operatives.

The controversial Tea Party Express group has pledged $250,000 to O'Donnell's campaign, while Caste has the backing of the GOP establishment and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
