It's Your Dime: Exorbitant Salaries

For the past several months we’ve kept a close eye on the Philadelphia Housing Authority. We know the former Executive Director had hundred of thousands of dollars paid out secretly to settle sexual harassment claims. There are questions of management of a ‘fund’ supported by forced employee contributions. We’ve also learned of the exorbitant salaries pulled in by top executives.

On this edition of It’s Your Dime, Fox 29’s Investigative Reporter Jeff Cole reports that these problems do not lie with Philly’s housing authority alone.  Across the country, there are several Housing chiefs who pull in outrageous salaries – and one senator is demanding HUD to a better job of overseeing stimulus money – which includes keeping an eye on how much housing authority directors make.
