Hamels Expected In Denver For Game 3
PHILADELPHIA - Cole Hamels is expected to rejoin the team Saturday in Denver for Games 3 and 4 of the National League Division Series against the Rockies.
During Game 2, on Thursday, Hamel's wife Heidi went into labor while he was pitching. MLB.com reports, Heidi delivered Caleb Michael at 9am Friday at Lankenau Hospital.
On Thursday, the Phillies' traveling secretary got a message from Heidi around 4 p.m. that read, "I'm in the hospital going into labor. Could you please tell Cole as soon as he's done pitching?"
Just after Hamels left the game, he got the message and he took off right for the hospital.
