Fort Mott State Park & Hancock House - Fort Mott in Pennsville was part of a coastal defense system designed for the Delaware River in the 1800's. Free to visit. 856-935-3218. Hancock House is located in Hancock's Bridge about 15 minutes from Fort Mott. In 1778 it was the scene of a massacre when 300 British loyalists attacked and killed 15 members of the local rebel militia while they were asleep in the Hancock House.
